Memorial Day Farm Update

The warm temperatures have been good to us the past few weeks and our plants have been very happy.   Our tomato plants have green tomatoes on them and we are planning to begin harvesting them in a couple weeks.  Cherry tomatoes will be the first ready, and then all of our delicious heirlooms, followed by our hybrids.  Also coming in a couple weeks: blueberries! This green berries are getting plumper and more purple as the days pass.  Other crops making their first appearance of the year either this week or in the following couple weeks: squash, zucchini, cabbage, cauliflower, green beans, cucumbers, potatoes, and basil.

Among the many exciting crops that spring and summer bring, are the fun events and dinners centered around locally grown food. Graft restaurant will be putting on a dinner here at the farm on June 8th.  Check here for more information and to sign up.

Also, The Killer Tomato Festival will be held on Sunday, July 21st.  This is an event entirely dedicated to tomato centered dishes and drinks.  Atlanta chefs and mixologists create dishes using locally sourced tomatoes and make tons of samples for you to try as you walk around the event.  Seth and I went last year and it was a blast.  If your a tomato fan, it's a great event to see all the ways a tomato can be prepared.  Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.

Below are a few photos from around the farm this week.
